The stories of Robin Hood have been passed down from generation to generation, but how has he become part of our language? Here are some interesting ways that Robin Hood is within our spoken word, starting with some phrases from the 1600s:

means many men talk about matters about which they have no experience.

means to sell items at a price far below their real value (since RH stole items he could sell them below their value).
